The Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) produces, markets and distributes volleyball events worldwide, including the popular AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour. While promoting and supporting a healthy lifestyle, the AVP is best known for its world-class athletes, who have won numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Olympic games. One of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. is seeing a new crop of young professional talent and fans, and the league was looking to invest and get much more active in the mobile space, specifically high-impact and engaging mobile gaming experiences.
Utility was hired to partner with the AVP to research, plan, design and develop the league's new suite of mobile games, featuring Olympic stars like April Ross and others. With deep gameplay, life-like action, and peer-to-peer competitions, the AVP's new game was to also serve as another media vehicle for sales and marketing to grow in the monetization efforts as a whole.
Users are able to play life-like action against simulated volleyball pros, stopping at each Tour location along the way to the championship!
Users are able to fully personalize their characters, and train their persona to become an elite competitor.
Users can level up, pay to get ahead, and buy some cool swag along the way. Long gameplay time is key to brand sponsorship and advertising opportunites as the AVP looks to continue to evolve the new digal media property.
The AVP's mobile game was released and the fans went wild for it, and April Ross was featured as the game's highlighted athlete partner.
